Products that carry the Vegan Certification Trademark are guaranteed that each product is strictly vegan, containing no animal ingredients or animal by-products, using no animal ingredient or by-product in the manufacturing process, and not being tested on animals. A list of approved companies can be found on the VEGAN PRODUCTS menu on our site.

The logo and certification is exclusively administered by Essential Labs, a division of Essential Wholesale.

How do I qualify?
You can apply to use the Logo on any vegan product. Your company need not produce solely vegan products to qualify, but the logo can only be used on the approved products.

Certification Process:

  1. Company submits a complete list of ingredients for each product seeking certification by sending a copy of your final INCI Ingredient list to dennis@vegancosmetics.org.  Information regarding any animal testing on the finished product or testing of individual ingredients by the manufacturer or on their behalf must be included.

  2. Upon receipt of the above info, the ingredients will be checked and any queries will be forwarded to the company requesting certification.

  3. Products will be reviewed which may involve laboratory testing and contact with the suppliers and manufacturers. This process may take several weeks depending on the number of products submitted for review and the amount of questionable ingredients or processes.

  4. After thorough review of the products, www.vegancosmetics.org  will grant usage of the Logo for specified products reviewed and approved.

  5. Upon approval www.vegancosmetics.org will issue the artwork in a tif, eps, or jpeg format. We also have several variations of the artwork for use for your companies unique design needs. Logos must never be transferred or sold to or used by any unapproved product or company. Violation of this rule will result in termination of logo use privileges and possible prosecution for fraud.

Vegancosmetics.org reserves the right to assess a penalty fee/fine to any company that is found in violation of our logo user agreement by misuse of the trademark or by providing false or misleading information regarding ingredients and processing of product. Vegancosmetics.org can require companies to pay for and have their products tested in a laboratory of Vegancosmetics.org choosing if they feel that proper verification of vegan status cannot be determined otherwise.

Vegancosmetics.org does not permit companies to use language that implies that we recommend a product.  Please e-mail dennis@vegancosmetics.org if you have questions regarding any of the above statements.
